Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Young!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young moves out of range of the strikes.
Young shoots in for a takedown but Channel shows good takedown defense.
Channel fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Young on the side of the head.
Channel feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Young sprawling to the canvas! Young rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Channel finish him?!

It looks like Nate Young has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Young is trying desperately to land a takedown but Channel is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Young.

Young jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Channel walks away with a smile on his face. Young gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Young moves away from the strike by Channel.
Channel misses with a series of wild punches.
Channel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Young fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Channel sprawls well initially but Young persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Young tries to pass the half guard into mount. Channel knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Young looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Clark Channel is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Clark Channel.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Channel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Montana had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nieminen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Montana Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nieminen's back instead.
