Ruut is rocked!
Xiii pushes down on Ruut's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Oh Ruut is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Xiii is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Xiii lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Ruut quite badly. Ruut pulls Xiii in close trying to recover. Xiii postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Ruut on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Ruut doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wedge Xiii! Wedge Xiii retains his featherweight title!
A very excited looking Wedge Xiii made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
