The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Philips shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Philips sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Philips is looking for a kimura but Gracie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Philips to get the leverage.
Philips trying to advance position but Gracie counters by regaining guard.
Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Philips's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Philips holds on and takes a little breather.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Philips is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie advances position into side control!

Gracie works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Philips prevents Gracie from improving position.
Gracie wants to control but Philips is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is working to tighten his grip on Philips's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Philips has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gracie is really squeezing tight and eventually Philips passes out! Gracie breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Both fighters circling a little - Oliveira finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Dunn throws a body punch but Oliveira moves out of range.
Dunn cracks Oliveira with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
