The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Votava shoots in looking for a takedown but Fawkes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Votava's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Votava works Fawkes's body with a nice hook.
Fawkes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Votava paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Votava avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fawkes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Votava jabs Fawkes right on the nose. Fawkes blinks but takes it well.

We've been hearing reports that Fawkes has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
