The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kerzhakov sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Martin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kerzhakov is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Martin stuns Kerzhakov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Martin digs a good hook to Kerzhakov's body.
Sloppy strikes from Martin. Those never looked like landing.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rapide is defended easily by Carwin.
Carwin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Rapide is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Rapide closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carwin circles away.
Rapide on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Carwin throws a series of punches but Rapide avoids them all with ease.
Carwin misses with a series of wild punches.
Rapide throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carwin's waist but Carwin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rapide off to one side.

Stokenhizer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Gaudencio Roman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
