Howard connects with a body shot that sends Mazuke's belly button to the back.
Mazuke shoots in for a double leg but Howard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Howard tries to bum rush Mazuke with a series of wild strikes but Mazuke uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Howard shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mazuke eats them both and turns towards Howard to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Mazuke shoots in looking for a takedown. Howard tries to sprawl out of it but Mazuke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Howard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Howard leaves Mazuke with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
John Howard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toki Mazuke.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Howard! Mazuke is out on his feet! Howard rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Mazuke is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Mazuke is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
