Shark lands a left and a right that send Hoi crashing to the mat, dazed. Shark thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jab, jab by Shark - just one landing.
Shark throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hoi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hoi's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Shark drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Hoi's head, knocking him out cold! Shark is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Baptista got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garuntasticos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baptista has managed to get both his arms back between Garuntasticos 's legs - danger averted.

Garuntasticos has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Baptista is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Garuntasticos .

Ward lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Eater is on top in guard.


Eater is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Brown has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Eater is looking to defend but Brown has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Eater! Brown pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Eater taps out and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Morrell looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Johnny Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shamrock blocks a jab.
Shamrock pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Morrell has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Morrell connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Shamrock covering up! Morrell comes in with a big uppercut and Shamrock goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Pierre Morrell! Pierre Morrell retains his welterweight title!
