The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Polo.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Polo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Baptista lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Baptista moves out of range of the strikes.
Bathory punishes Baptista's body with a nice straight punch.

Nice shot lands for Bathory.
Baptista does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bathory takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Baptista connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Arzlan Bathory has been cut.
Baptista goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Bathory is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Baptista had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Russian Zombie.
