The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from McGuiness does no damage.
McGuiness throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McGuiness looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Riberio tries to close the distance and clinch but McGuiness swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McGuiness looks to land a right hand but Riberio moved out of range.
McGuiness throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Riberio decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
McGuiness manages to get to full guard.
Riberio seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bary Allen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damozzi tries a head kick but it misses.
Allen throws a leg kick but Damozzi moved away.
Damozzi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Allen lands with a right hand.
Damozzi moves out of range of the leg kick from Allen.
Allen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Damozzi connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A looping hook to the body misses from Allen. Damozzi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Damozzi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Allen has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Allen and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Bary Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Damozzi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Allen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Damozzi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Allen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Allen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Damozzi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Damozzi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Damozzi will probably get the nod.

Allen misses with an uppercut. Damozzi saw that one coming.
Allen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Damozzi.

Damozzi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Allen but Allen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Allen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Damozzi to score with a decent uppercut.

Damozzi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Allen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Allen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Allen!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Damozzi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Damozzi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Allen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Allen's back!

That's time! Damozzi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Allen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Damozzi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Frank Damozzi.
