The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nada on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Palikka throws a body punch but Nada moves out of range.
Palikka connects with a good right hand that stumbles Nada. Nada circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nada is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Kalle Palikka will probably get the nod.

Piper throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Piper jabs Amateur right on the nose. Amateur blinks but takes it well.
Amateur lands with a right hand.

and Amateur counters with a stiff right hand.

Piper drops Amateur with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Amateur looks back up at him and smiles so Piper waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Amateur is rocked!

It looks like Rookie Amateur has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Amateur drops his hands momentarily. Piper doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Amateur staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Amateur doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
