Benjawan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Thomas.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thomas is defended easily by Benjawan.
We've been told by Benjawan's head coaches at Warrior Dogs that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Benjawan was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Phan Benjawan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Narcizo Thomas.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Piper has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Piper and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jokinen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
