The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasililiev throws a leg kick

Pettis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vasililiev looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Pettis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Vasililiev's head backwards.

Pettis throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Vasililiev's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Pettis dives in looking to finish as Vasililiev flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Pettis's strikes! Pettis is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Vasililiev's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Vasililiev was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Leonardo creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Bean with a big uppercut! Bean tries to clinch up but Leonardo pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Bean to the mat! Bean covers up and Leonardo unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
