No joy there for Oppelaar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
An attempted straight right counter from Socha misses the target.
Oppelaar throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Socha counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Oppelaar tests Socha's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Oppelaar swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Socha counters with a nice leg kick.
Oppelaar takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A left and a right from Socha both land. Nice combination.
Oppelaar shoots in looking for a takedown but Socha manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Oppelaar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Socha misses with an attempted mid kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Oppelaar has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
