Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pollyanne Rothchild (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xander Cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rothchild kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I Will Survive. Xander Cage will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Rothchild tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cage manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cage sizes up Rothchild with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Rothchild closes the distance but Cage moves to the side
and Cage counters with a stiff right hand.
Rothchild moves away from the strike by Cage.
Rothchild doesn't manage to clinch there - Cage circles away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Cage darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Cage has Rothchild up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cage throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Rothchilds head.
Cage is looking to control Rothchild's arms but Rothchild gets an underhook and turns him. Now Cage has his back to the cage.
Rothchild has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cage is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Rothchild has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Rothchild tries to pull guard but Cage forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Cage is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rothchild is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Cage to the mat. Cage regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rothchild stands and throws Cage's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Rothchild tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Cage pushes Rothchild away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rothchild gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Rothchild remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Cage is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rothchild has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee asks Rothchild politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rothchild prefers to stall for the moment though.
Cage is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rothchild asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Rothchild passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Cage!

Cage has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Cage told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Cage is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Rothchild off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Cage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rothchild. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rothchild really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Cage.
Rothchild's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
