Perez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wolny was well out of range. Poor timing from Perez.

Wolny lands a nice shot that snaps Perez's head back.

Perez gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Wolny gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Perez is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chukwuma avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
As Patterson looks to move away, Chukwuma throws a big counter combo bu Patterson just gets out of the way.
Patterson is looking to slow Chukwuma down with leg kicks.
Floyd Patterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Patterson throws a head kick that misses.
Patterson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Patterson scores with a nice right hand.
Chukwuma tries to work over Patterson's front leg with a kick but Patterson checks it.
Chukwuma throws a front kick aimed at Patterson's knee but Patterson avoids it well.
Chukwuma uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Patterson.
Chukwuma is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Chukwuma bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
An attempted straight right counter from Chukwuma misses the target.

Patterson lands a left and a right that send Chukwuma crashing to the mat, dazed. Patterson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Tinashe Chukwuma has been cut.

Chukwuma is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Patterson Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Chukwuma is out cold, face down on the mat!

Fretwell displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Fretwell tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jones manages to circle out of the way.
Fretwell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tom Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fretwell pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Fretwell lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A big right from Jones misses.
Fretwell takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
Fretwell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Jones cracks Fretwell with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Fretwell attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Jones cracks Fretwell with a big right hand and Fretwell goes down!

Fretwell is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones stands and steps away. Fretwell gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Oh Fretwell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nice jab there from Fretwell.
Jones knocks out Fretwell with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Jones before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Jones picks up the big W with a huge KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tom Jones! Tom Jones retains his light heavyweight title!
Tom Jones decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
