Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Gomez screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tokoro throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Tokoro feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gotti wants to stand up but Tokoro is controlling him.

Alves shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Alves keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jackson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Jackson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jackson lands a nice shot that snaps Alves 's head back.
Alves uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jackson has time to react.

Alves cracks Jackson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Alves throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Jackson crashing down! Jackson tries to stagger back to his feet but Alves just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Jackson asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Breaker takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Koko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Koko misses with a hook. Breaker ducked under it nicely.

Breaker cracks Koko with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Breaker has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Koko to stand back up!

Koko is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Breaker engages and cracks Koko with a massive lead left hook - Koko tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Breaker is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Heart Breaker! Heart Breaker retains his heavyweight title!
