A left and a right from Sanchez both land. Nice combination.

Silence shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Sanchez pushes Silence off but Silence dives into side control.
Silence lands a nice forearm strike.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gornik takes the fight into the clinch.
Gornik misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sodeman.
Gornik really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gornik breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sodeman lands the left hand.
Gornik shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sodeman but Sodeman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
It seemed like Sodeman was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Gornik walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Arnold Sodeman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sodeman smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Gornik fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sodeman slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Gornik walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Oh Gornik is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Arnold Sodeman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sodeman connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Gornik takes one to the side of the head.
Gornik lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sodeman circles away quickly and effectively.
Gornik walks straight into a right hand from Sodeman - that's dropped him! Sodeman jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Gornik from any more punishment! Gornik complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Gorham is trying to pull guard but Kasongo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Barett got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dexter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barett has managed to get both his arms back between Dexter's legs - danger averted.

Alex Svensson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carl throws a nice inside leg kick.
Svensson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carl manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Carl tries to land a front kick but Svensson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Svensson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Svensson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carl is fending him off so far but Svensson persists. Nope, Carl circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Svensson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Svensson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carl tries to avoid it but Svensson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carl to the ground. Carl escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Even Carl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Svensson.

Carl throws a series of strikes that have Svensson backpedaling.

It looks like Alex Svensson has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Svensson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Carl to score with a decent uppercut.
