Erbst doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Erbst closes the distance and clinches up with Dechaudarra, looking for a takedown. Erbst pushes Dechaudarra against the cage but Dechaudarra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dechaudarra misses with a low kick.
Erbst shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dechaudarra but Dechaudarra pushes him off and we're back to square one.

I was talking to Dechaudarra's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Fungus shoots in looking for a takedown but Diaz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fungus's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Oh Diaz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bronson dances in with a quick combination. Sorenson is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Bronson snaps Sorenson's head back. Sorenson stumbles backwards against the cage. Bronson steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Sorenson's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Sorenson just didn't come prepared.

Steinhof shoots for a takedown but Abel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Abel looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
No luck for Steinhof with that takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Steinhof.
Abel appears to be looking for a big counter.
Mariano Abel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Douglas Steinhof.
Abel swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Steinhof has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Abel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Steinhof was well out of range. Poor timing from Abel.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Steinhof! But no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Steinhof cracks Abel with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Steinhof immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Abel is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Steinhof!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rautha tries to avoid it but Patterson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rautha to the ground. Rautha escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Patterson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Patterson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rautha is pulling down on Patterson's head to control his posture.

Patterson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rautha holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Patterson tries to free his leg and advance position but Rautha is retaining full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

and Rautha cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Rautha lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Rautha has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD - Phoenix Mixed Martial Arts in the buildup to the fight.
Patterson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Patterson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rautha's waist but Rautha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Patterson off to one side.
Rautha throws the left hand but Patterson avoids the punch easily.
Patterson flicks out a counter leg kick but Rautha steps away.
Rautha throws a hook to the side of Patterson's head but Patterson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Patterson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No luck for Patterson with that takedown attempt.

Patterson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rautha connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Patterson is rocked!
Rautha lands a brutal uppercut that launches Patterson off his feet! Patterson tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
