The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dsa closes the distance and pushes Ffff back into the cage.
Ffff jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dsa walks away with a smile on his face. Ffff gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dsa tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ffff defends well and Dsa ends up having to push Ffff into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dsa defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ffff.
Dsa stuffs the takedown attempt from Ffff. Ffff gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ffff Ffff. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dsa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ffff as he avoids it easily.
Ffff went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Ffff stands up over Dsa, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Dsa will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Dsa controls Ffff momentarily but Ffff frees himself.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ffff Ffff.

Costanzo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gatti moves away.

Costanzo shoots in and bounces Gatti off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
