Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Bo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kharitonov tries to close the distance and clinch but Bo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kharitonov is looking to clinch.

Bo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Connor MacManus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcelo Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MacManus closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Santiago's guard.
Santiago wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and MacManus is now in half guard.
MacManus lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
MacManus is taking a breather. Santiago says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santiago trying to hold on to MacManus's head to control him but MacManus postures up.
MacManus trying to mount his opponent but Santiago defends it.
MacManus working over Santiago with some ground and pound. Santiago looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
MacManus content to control rather than advance.

Santiago looking for submissions off his back.
MacManus lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Santiago looking for a kimura from the bottom but MacManus passes into side control!
MacManus is staying tight to Santiago's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Santiago is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The referee asks MacManus politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. MacManus prefers to stall for the moment though.
MacManus working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
MacManus moves into full mount!

MacManus quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for MacManus but it's paid off an Santiago is forced to tap! Nice work by MacManus.
