Sullivan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ross.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sullivan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Ross blocks a head kick by Sullivan.
We've been hearing reports that Ross has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Sylvanas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borys Mankowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sylvanas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Woah Woah Woah. Mankowski has chosen Kękę -Wyjebane as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Em sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Arcuri throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Arcuri connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Em stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Arcuri.
Arcuri scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Em takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Arcuri is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Boris Em has been cut.
Arcuri bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Em looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Arcuri sizes up Em with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Arcuri! Em is out on his feet! Arcuri rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Em is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Em is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Griffiths throws out a counter right but Janeiro avoids it with no problem.
Janeiro stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Griffiths.
Griffiths changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Griffiths's coach down at ~T~ Troid - Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Griffiths's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Janeiro takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffiths scores with a hook to the body. Janeiro takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Griffiths feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
