Cartagena comes to the cage accompanied by The Crack Attack. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Melcher takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Cartagena stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cartagena wants it to stay on the feet.
Cartagena digs a good hook to Melcher's body.
Melcher shoots in for a takedown but Cartagena shows good takedown defense.
Cartagena connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Melcher tumbling to the canvas! Cartagena pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Melcher was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Don Cartagena!
During a confident post fight interview, Don Cartagena thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
The defeated Jon Melcher had this to say: 'We tried. We failed. I guess it's back to the ol' drawing board!'.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Pott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AC Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pott comes to the cage accompanied by I Luv It. Slater has chosen Stop What Ya Doin as his entrance music. Roger Pott had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 207.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Roger Pott had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

This has been an exciting period of action!
Slater lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
