The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Lannister swings for the body but Hughes moves out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Hughes 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Lannister keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lannister feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hughes's calf.
Lannister throws a big shot that misses.
Hughes changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Hughes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Lannister fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hughes has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Lannister tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hughes defends well and Lannister ends up having to push Hughes into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A quick step to the side and Hughes tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Lannister is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hughes can't fight it off and eventually Lannister manages to take the fight to the floor. Hughes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hughes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lannister manages to get himself to full guard.

Hughes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Lannister is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hughes has his hands clasped together but Lannister extends and breaks Hughes's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Lannister.

Legstrong throws a jab but it's blocked by Green.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Legstrong has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Legstrong bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Legstrong loads up on a big right hand but Green slips the punch.
Green misses with a low kick.

Legstrong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
