Hanagan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Owens's guard.

Hanagan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Owens has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hanagan has managed to get both his arms back between Owens's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Owens has his foot on Hanagan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hanagan works his way back into a safe position though.
Hanagan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
It looks like Hanagan might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Hanagan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Chester looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sheze lands with an overhand left.
Froyo Hoyo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hoyo can't find room to land a body shot as Sheze controls the action.

Hoyo lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sheze backwards.

Sheze throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hoyos head.

This has been an exciting period of action!
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sheze.
Sheze misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Sheze lands a nice shot to the body.
Sheze blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Sheze tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Sheze tries to pull guard but Hoyo holds him up against the ropes and eventually Sheze drops back down to his feet.

Sheze is trying to pull guard but Hoyo has him pressed against the ropes.
Sheze misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hoyo.

Sheze swings wildly with an uppercut but Hoyo uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sheze pulls guard effortlessly.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Sheze has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Hoyo doesn't defend quickly enough and Sheze has managed to lock this one up! Can Hoyo escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Sheze on a fantastic submission victory.

After the fight, Mnajdra Sheze was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
