The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drakov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Naleczowianka manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Drakov content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Naleczowianka definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

He tries to recover but Naleczowianka pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Drakov is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Yamada's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Yoshida Brothers - Ibuki. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

As Nooles backs away, Astalo returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Nooles uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Astalo.
Nooles catches Astalo with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Astalo lands a nice leg kick that just misses Nooles's sensitive parts.
Astalo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nooles swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It seemed like Nooles was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Nooles counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Nooles throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Astalo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A nice combination there by Nooles.

Nooles lands a left and a right that send Astalo crashing to the mat, dazed. Nooles thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh Astalo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nooles cracks Astalo on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Astalo falls backwards against the ropes. Nooles follows up with more strikes that drop Astalo to his knees. Nooles keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Astalo! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Nooles!
A relieved looking Chris Nooles thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gil Jacobson.
