Ignatov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fler-Ghetto Beat. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Donnie Datsik was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Datsik turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Datsik takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ignatov throws a jab but it's blocked by Datsik.
Ignatov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Datsik swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quaid lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Charles DaCoca has been cut.
DaCoca throws a looping overhand right but Quaid ducks down to avoid it.
DaCoca takes a swing at Quaid's ribcage but misses.
DaCoca ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Quaid moves away.
Quaid tries to bum rush DaCoca with a series of wild strikes but DaCoca uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and DaCoca counters with a nice leg kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

DaCoca sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Quaid winds up and cracks DaCoca with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
DaCoca felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Quaid is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Quaid is keen to just control but DaCoca is a slippery customer.

In his post fight interview, Douglas Quaid started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
