The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David needs to keep his hands up - Norbit had a free shot at his head there.

Oooooh!!! David has knocked Norbit down with a huge combo! David steps away and waves a wobbly Norbit back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Dirk Norbit has been cut.

David shoots in and bounces Norbit off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

David changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Norbit tries to avoid it but David manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Norbit to the ground. Norbit escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A nice combination there by Norbit.

Norbit lands a nice hook to David's body. David takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Norbit lands a two punch combo.
Norbit lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

David throws a lazy right hand but Norbit sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Head Coach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Morgan's choice of entrance music: Sherry Monocle. Simon Morgan struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Morgan throws a front kick aimed at Coach's knee but Coach avoids it well.
Coach throws out a loose jab but Morgan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Morgan lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Coach takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Morgan takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Morgan has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Morgan there as he acknowledges the shot.
Coach connects with a good right hand that stumbles Morgan. Morgan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makaaja looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Romero seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Romero throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Third Round Romero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mica Makaaja.
Romero stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Romero wants it to stay on the feet.

Makaaja is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Romero has escaped the position, nice work there.
Romero tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Makaaja easily slips into full mount!

Makaaja is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Romero can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Makaaja is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Romero has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

That was a close round but I would say that Third Round Romero will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Romero loads up on a big right hand but Makaaja slips the punch.
No luck for Makaaja with that takedown attempt.
Makaaja darts in looking for a takedown but Romero gets double underhooks and turns Makaaja into the cage.

Makaaja seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Romero does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Romero has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Makaaja is working away from the top position though.

Makaaja is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Romero has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Romero!
