We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've been hearing good reports from Saibot's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 9 losses; Kazuka Fuujin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Ward shoots in looking for a takedown. Fuujin tries to sprawl out of it but Ward keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fuujin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fuujin or perhaps it was just good defense by Ward, which made it look bad.

Fuujin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ward did well to prevent Fuujin getting side control.
