The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
We've been told by Romero's head coaches at Phoenix Fight Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Romero uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cenabre.
As Cenabre tries to get set, Romero tries to push him back and clinch up but Cenabre manages to avoid the attempt.
Cenabre misses with the body kick
and Romero connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cenabre on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Cenabre moves to clinch but Romero breaks away
and Romero makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Romero creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
