Yamada kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Yoshida Brothers - Ibuki. Sam Stout has the better chin. Stout fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Yamada, pushing him back against the ropes.
Yamada looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Yamada has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stout is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Yamada tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stout just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Yamada drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stout gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Isamu Yamada. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yamada changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stout fights it off and pushes away nicely.

A relieved looking Khalid Mamedov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Benson Whyte had this to say: 'I been fighting non-stop since I was 18, I think its time to step back and take a likkle time out to better my game so this doesn't happen again'.
