The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

With a record of 27 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marlo Stanfield!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urai lands with a straight right. Stanfield didn't see that one coming.
Stanfield's coach down at MM eh Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stanfield's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Urai misses with a hook to the body
and Stanfield cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Urai looks to land a right hand but Stanfield moved out of range.
Stanfield scores with a one two! Urai had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Sam Urai has been cut.
Stanfield lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Urai misses with a body shot.
Stanfield misses with a few strikes there.
Stanfield takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

letting Urai counter with a right hand.
Stanfield throws a body shot but no joy.
Urai fires out a quick counter leg kick but Stanfield just manages to avoid it.
Stanfield looks to throw the jab but Urai is out of range.

and Urai counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Urai fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Stanfield looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Good exchange - Urai coming out on top.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Stanfield walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That was a close round but I would say that Sam Urai will probably get the nod.

A looping hook to the body misses from Urai. Stanfield does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stanfield throws a lazy right hand but Urai sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stanfield shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Urai eats them both and turns towards Stanfield to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Stanfield gets caught napping as Urai dives in and scores a takedown. Stanfield manages to retain guard.
Stanfield wants to get back to his feet but Urai is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Urai is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Urai throws a strike but Stanfield rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stanfield tries to stand but Urai is controlling from the bottom.

In his post fight interview, Marlo Stanfield started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
