The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunez dives in for a single leg takedown but Senchai sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Lennartsson finds Barakat's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Barakat flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Lennartsson lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Barakat will be OK.

Lu defending well as Spillane loads up on a big left hand.
Spillane throws a hook to the side of Lu's head but Lu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lu went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Spillane has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Lu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spillane as he avoids it easily.

Spillane cracks Lu with an uppercut from hell and Lu crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Spillane's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
