The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Soni closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gonzalez tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Soni has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Gonzalez is trying to reverse the position but instead Soni has taken his back - oops!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gonzalez is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Soni gets his way!

Soni is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Gonzalez is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Gonzalez flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Soni anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Gonzalez and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Soni slips an arm under Gonzalez chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Soni has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Soni is squeezing on Gonzalez like an anaconda would it's prey. Gonzalez fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

A relieved looking Tanishk Soni thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Ciosek takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Boskins has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Oooooh!!! Boskins has knocked Ciosek down with a huge combo! Boskins steps away and waves a wobbly Ciosek back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Cortez (ranked 5606 p4p, 681 weight class) and Estefan Sanchez (ranked 4569 p4p, 595 weight class). Cortez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Wake Me Up. Sanchez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lil'Wayne - Right Above It feat. Drake. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
