The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonnell swings away with a leg kick that misses.
McDonnell swings widly with a right hand
and Wright counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Rory McDonnell has been cut.
Wright drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
McDonnell takes a shot right to the bread basket.
McDonnell scores with a kick to the midsection.
Crunch! Wright slams his shin into McDonnell's torso.
Wright darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Horrible takedown attempt by McDonnell or perhaps it was just good defense by Wright, which made it look bad.
McDonnell looks for the body kick but Wright saw that one coming.
Wright throwing a counter right hand but McDonnell manages to avoid it.
Wright moves out of range of the strikes.
McDonnell throws a push kick but Wright slaps the foot to one side.

McDonnell scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Ira Wright has been cut.
Wright seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Wright throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McDonnell sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McDonnell shoots for a takedown but Wright saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McDonnell misses with a lunging right hand
and Wright counters with a nice uppercut.
Wright misses with a hook. McDonnell ducked under it nicely.
Wright clobbers McDonnell with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Ira Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wright throws the left hand but McDonnell avoids the punch easily.
McDonnell is still on wobbly legs! Can Wright finish him?
Wright lands a right hook to the body.
McDonnell looks for the body kick but Wright saw that one coming.
McDonnell seems to have recovered his senses.

McDonnell throws a push kick but Wright slaps the foot to one side.
Wright was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Wright lands a big uppercut and McDonnell crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but McDonnell looks OK. Wright waves McDonnell back to his feet!
McDonnell throws a leg kick but Wright moved away.
Wright misses the jab.
Wright connects with a body shot that sends McDonnell's belly button to the back.
Wright takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Wright misses with a wild body shot.
McDonnell throws a leg kick
and McDonnell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wright fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McDonnell has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Ira Wright is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wright throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McDonnell takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
McDonnell throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Wright counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wright throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McDonnell stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wright is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Wright throws a big shot that misses.

and Wright counters with a big right hand! Oh McDonnell is in trouble here! Wright follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
