France has chosen bring me to life as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 1 losses; Jack Burton! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 3 losses; Darwin France!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.

Burton gets tackled into the cage by France. France maintains the clinch.

France jumps guard and drags Burton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. France swivels though and keeps the full guard.

France is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Burton has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

France has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Burton has passed into side control.

France is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
France tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Burton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, France has escaped the position, nice work there.
What's France going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
France manages to get back to half guard.
France felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
France is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
France wants to control but Burton is keeping busy.

The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Schmeiser wants to take the fight to the mat but Camatta manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Schmeiser is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Camatta pulls him back up using the underhooks.
