The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Bell checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A jab from Dyer does it's job there.

Bell throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

enabling Dyer to counter with a crisp jab.

Bell scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Dyer to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.

Wangchuck throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gallagher has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Ukkeli feints and then cracks Shanks's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Shanks down.

It looked like Shanks was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Ukkeli.
Shanks throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Ukkeli tries to close the distance and clinch but Shanks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
