A looping hook to the body misses from Kranang. Strong does a little dance to reset his feet.

Strong shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Strong showed some decent athleticism there.

Strong seems to be looking for submissions.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Strong working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Strong wants to work for an arm triangle but Kranang is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kranang escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Strong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kranang has his feet on Strong's thighs here. He's pushed Strong off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Strong screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Pocong Kranang tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jane, as that shot connected.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sommer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lee dives in for a single leg takedown but Sommer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Sommer's coach down at Makoa - Hilo Cheapest Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Sommer's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Sommer screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Frye feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ispa sprawling to the canvas! Ispa rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Frye finish him?!

Frye drops Ispa with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ispa looks back up at him and smiles so Frye waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Ispa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Frye cracks Ispa on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Ispa falls backwards against the ropes. Frye follows up with more strikes that drop Ispa to his knees. Frye keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Ispa! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). French Frye!
