The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heavy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jukka is staying active underneath Heavy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Heavy with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Heavy definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jukka tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Heavy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jukka has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Makoa - Hilo Cheapest Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Jukka might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Heavy haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Biernat kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Someday. Biernat's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd cheers as Biernat lands an impressive looking overhand right. Saint Pierre doesn't seem phased though.

Saint Pierre fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Biernat looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Barakus drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Barakus wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rider, who protects the arm well.
Rider is pushing Barakus's head away, looking to escape. Barakus manages to hold on to the position though.
Barakus advances to mount.
Rider is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Barakus working for a guillotine from mount but Rider is in no mood to give up.
Barakus is looking to work his way around to Rider's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Barakus has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rider finds it's way round the side to connect with Barakus's head.
Oh Barakus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rider connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barakus's hands.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rider pounces like a tiger and cracks Barakus with a vicious hook! Barakus is down but not out! Rider follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
