Koski drops Work with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Work looks back up at him and smiles so Koski waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Koski lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Work up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Koski from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Work's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eugeniy Petrov!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Kromog. Petrov does a little dance to reset his feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Petrov misses the target.
A little feinted left hand from Kromog on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Kromog avoids the body shot from Petrov.

Petrov drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Petrov has hold of Kromog's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kromog seems comfortable defending it but Petrov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kromog is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kromog is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Petrov couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Eugeniy Petrov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazakov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vandelay circles away.
Vandelay throws a looping overhand right but Kazakov ducks down to avoid it.
Vandelay scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Kazakov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vandelay as he jumps to the side.
Vandelay has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Vandelay misses with an uppercut.
Vandelay works Kazakov's body with a nice hook.
Vandelay slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kazakov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Art Vandelay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vasilliy Kazakov.
A punch lands to the side of Kazakov 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Art Vandelay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vandelay throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kazakov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Vandelay lands with a hook. Kazakov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Kazakov is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vandelay finds Kazakov's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Kazakov flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Vandelay lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Kazakov will be OK.
