Ibbe Ribbler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dilon Goncalves.
Goncalves misses with a takedown attempt
and Ribbler counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Dilon Goncalves has been cut.
Goncalves fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Goncalves takes one on the button.

Goncalves closes the distance and pushes Ribbler back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ribbler lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Ribbler can't find room to land a body shot as Goncalves controls the action.
Goncalves jumps guard but Ribbler stands there with Goncalves around his waist. Goncalves gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ribbler lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Goncalves backwards.
Goncalves jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ribbler walks away with a smile on his face. Goncalves gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Goncalves darts in trying to clinch
enabling Ribbler to counter with a crisp jab.
We've been told by Ribbler's head coaches at Fenrir MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Ribbler drops Goncalves with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Goncalves looks back up at him and smiles so Ribbler waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Goncalves is rocked!
Goncalves glances at the clock... BAM! Ribbler nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Goncalves crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Goncalves is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ibbe Ribbler!
