Mulholland is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yaj sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
It seemed like Yaj was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Mulholland shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yaj as he jumps to the side.

Mal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nevez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Bennington is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nevez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Nevez tries to counter by clinching up but Bennington breaks away and moves out of range.
Bennington shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Nevez to counter with a crisp jab.
Bennington looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ruben Nevez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Bennington .
Bennington darts in looking for a takedown but Nevez gets double underhooks and turns Bennington into the cage.
Nevez tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Bennington manages to circle out of the way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nevez lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bennington at a distance.

Bennington throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nevez's waist but Nevez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bennington off to one side.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nevez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

and Nevez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Bennington is rocked!
Nevez closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Bennington ! Nevez dives in looking to finish! Bennington is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ruben Nevez spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
