Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Batts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lioness Richie!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batts shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Richie counters with a three punch combo that has Batts backing up. Batts nods at Richie to acknowledge the strikes.
Richie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Batts defends well and Richie ends up having to push Batts into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Batts is trying hard to land a takedown here. Richie sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Richie feints the counter takedown.
Batts shoots in for a double leg but Richie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Batts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Batts swats away the attempt to clinch by Richie.
Richie avoids a kick to the body.

Batts rushes Richie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Richie tries to pull guard but Batts won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Batts has Richie pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Batts pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Richie tumbling to the mat - Batts dives into Richie's guard.
Richie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Batts manages to get himself to full guard.

Batts seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Richie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Batts has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Richie has managed to get both his arms back between Batts's legs - danger averted.

Batts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Richie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Richie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Richie wants to control from the top but Batts keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Batts wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Richie manages to pass to side control.
Richie is pressing down on Batts's thigh, looking to free his foot. Batts is holding on for now.
Batts moves into full guard.
Batts managing to control the position.

Batts is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Richie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Batts controls Richie momentarily but Richie frees himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Batts has control of Richie's left arm, preventing Richie from doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Richie is defended easily by Batts.
Some wild striking there from Batts.
Despite the aggression on Richie's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Richie goes for a double leg but Batts avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Batts continues to drive forward.
As Richie tries to get set, Batts tries to push him back and clinch up but Richie manages to avoid the attempt.

Batts decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Batts slows the pace down in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Batts's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Batts will probably get the nod.
That's time! Batts's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Batts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Batts is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Richie can do to turn this around?
Batts works a leg free and moves into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Richie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Richie.
Batts trying to control the position from guard on top but Richie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Batts lands a couple of digs.

Batts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Richie tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

It looks like Lioness Richie has been cut.
Batts stalling the fight.
Richie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Batts avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Batts jumps guard but Richie stands there with Batts around his waist. Batts gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Batts using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Richie has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Richie tries to pull guard but Batts holds him up against the cage and eventually Richie drops back down to his feet.
Billy Batts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lioness Richie.

Richie wants to pass the guard but Batts is keeping the position.
Batts has control of Richie's left arm, preventing Richie from doing any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Batts is on top in guard.

Batts is working Richie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Batts stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Richie fails with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Batts tries to counter with a takedown but Richie is quick to defend against it.

Richie gets tackled into the cage by Batts. Batts maintains the clinch.
Richie tries to pull guard but Batts forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Batts is trying to pull guard but Richie turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Batts.

Batts's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Batts definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Richie fails with the takedown

and Batts counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Batts.
Billy Batts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lioness Richie.

Batts manages to pull guard.
Batts is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Richie is controlling him.

Batts is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Richie throws a strike but Batts rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Batts won't allow Richie to get back to his feet.

Batts stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Batts!
Richie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Batts sprawls well. Batts wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Richie gets slowly back to his feet.
Richie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Richie fails with the takedown
and Batts counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Batts lands a big head kick that sends Richie tumbling to the mat! Batts takes a step backwards and waves Richie back to his feet - he wants the finish!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Batts shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Batts showed some decent athleticism there.
Richie is still in real trouble! Can Batts finish him?
Richie is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Batts scores with a couple of nice shots.

Batts is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Richie has managed to free his arm - good work.
Batts takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Batts lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Richie quite badly. Richie pulls Batts in close trying to recover. Batts postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Richie on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Richie doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Brown has an Americana. Spasov didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Brown is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Brown hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

In his post fight interview, Joshua Brown started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Lukas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Petkov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Petkov's back!

Petkov is squirming around looking to escape but he's just wriggling himself into more trouble. Lukas sinks in the hooks and manages to tighten his grip on a rear naked choke. Petkov has no choice but to tap and Lukas jumps to his feet to celebrate and slick submission win!
