Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kamakiri Yoritomo (ranked 7490 p4p, 583 weight class) and Hoki Poki (ranked 25420 p4p, 656 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Yoritomo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Praying Mantis - Praying Mantis. Hoki Poki acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poki changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Poki closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

It looks like Hoki Poki has been cut.
Yoritomo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Poki's coach down at Island Safe Space was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Poki's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Poki has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Yoritomo finds it's way round the side to connect with Poki's head.
Yoritomo moves away from the strike by Poki.
Yoritomo is looking to counter the offense by Poki and move into the clinch.
Poki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Yoritomo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Poki, pushing him back against the cage.

A relieved looking Kamakiri Yoritomo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Grip throws a right and a left that Dolvoz avoids nicely.

Dolvoz moves into the clinch.

Grip breaks from the clinch.

Grip gets caught flat footed, as Dolvoz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Grip uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Dolvoz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Dolvoz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Grip moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Grip closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dolvoz is letting Grip control him for a moment.

Grip has an Americana. Dolvoz didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Grip is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Grip hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
