The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demento ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shushkev moves away.

Demento closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Shushkev wants to control but Demento is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Demento is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Shushkev sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Steward from any more punishment! Steward complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kardashian enables Ispa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kardashian manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ispa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Ispa is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kardashian is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kardashian has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ispa has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Kardashian doesn't defend quickly enough and Ispa has managed to lock this one up! Can Kardashian escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ispa on a fantastic submission victory.
