These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kazuka Fuujin (ranked 312 p4p, 40 weight class) and Matt Smith (ranked 612 p4p, 71 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Fuujin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to a lot of Asian swag in this young man. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fuujin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Fuujin's legs - danger averted.

Fuujin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murhaa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jim.
Jim swings for the body but Murhaa moves out of range.
Murhaa throws out a counter right but Jim avoids it with no problem.
Murhaa throws a chopping leg kick but Jim manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Murhaa lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Murhaa looks to land a left hand but Jim moved out of range nicely.

Jim takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

A little feinted left hand from Jim on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Phol Murhaa seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jim lands with an uppercut that bounces Murhaa off the cage and back into range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Jim counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jim just misses with a punch to the body.
Murhaa scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jim doesn't seem bothered though.
Jim lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jim.

It seemed like Murhaa was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Jim paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Jim throws a sloppy head kick and Murhaa moves out of range easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Murhaa throws a low kick, looking for Jim's leg but Jim calmly moves out of range.

Jim is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Jim takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Phol Murhaa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Murhaa cracks Jim with an open hand slap.

That was a close second round but I would say that Taiga Jim will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Murhaa loads up on a big right hand but Jim slips the punch.
A quick step to the side and Jim tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jim scores with a jab. Murhaa acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Jim bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Murhaa lands a big head kick that sends Jim tumbling to the mat! Murhaa takes a step backwards and waves Jim back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Jim is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Murhaa engages and cracks Jim with a massive lead left hook - Jim tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Murhaa is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
