Cortez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Cortez shoots for a double leg takedown but Kelly sprawls well. He's pushed Cortez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cortez bounces back off the cage towards Kelly, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Kelly lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Kelly celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Smirnov gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Smirnov apologises and we restart here on the feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Todd Nieds.
