The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Pettis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Pettis lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Pettis enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pettis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Johnson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pettis is pulling down on Johnson's head to control his posture.
Johnson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pettis is proving hard to escape from.

Pettis pulls Johnson in close to his closed guard and prevents Johnson from doing any damage or advancing position.
Let's hope that Pettis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pettis gets a double leg takedown into Johnson's guard.
Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Johnson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pettis escapes and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Johnson tries to control but Pettis manages to take his back.
Pettis looking to break Johnson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Johnson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pettis will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Pettis has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Johnson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pettis feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Pettis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pettis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

I would just about give that final round to Anthony Pettis.
Well Pettis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
