The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pruitt tries to keep at a distance but Felipe has taken the fight into the clinch.
Pruitt could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Felipe lands with a light punch inside.

It looks like Miquel Pruitt has been cut.
Felipe jumps guard but Pruitt stands there with Felipe around his waist. Felipe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Felipe breaks from the clinch.
Felipe throws a series of punches but Pruitt avoids them all with ease.
Felipe shoots and misses
and Pruitt counters with a head kick.
Pruitt punishes Felipe's body with a nice straight punch.
Felipe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pruitt is fending him off so far but Felipe persists. Nope, Pruitt circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pruitt tries a head kick but it misses.
Felipe is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Fip Felipe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Felipe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pruitt napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Pruitt is not content to let Felipe control the position.
Felipe is pressing down on Pruitt's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pruitt is holding on for now.
