Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Bailey (ranked 3590 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Chernishev (ranked 4131 p4p, 0 weight class). Chernishev is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: MC Hovanskiy - Father in the building. Sergey Chernishev told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergey Chernishev!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chernishev dodges the punch combination from Bailey.
Bailey paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Bailey will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bailey throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chernishev.
Bailey uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chernishev.

Bailey lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Bailey will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bailey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Chernishev connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bailey scrambles back to his feet.
Chernishev bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bailey's head backwards.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Chernishev working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
