Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alberto Wood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alexander Rizal!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rizal throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rizal shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Rizal is keen to just control but Wood is a slippery customer.

Wood is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rizal pulls his head out easily.
Wood is not content to let Rizal control the position.
Rizal is just content to waste time from the top position. Wood takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Wood will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wood escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rizal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wood throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Wood wants to stand but Rizal is controlling the position.
Wood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Wood looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Wood has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rizal can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rizal wants to pass the guard but Wood is keeping the position.

Wood looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wood keeping moving, preventing Rizal from controlling successfully.
Rizal would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wood fails to land with a series of punches.

Rizal drives through with a takedown into Wood's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Rizal controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Rizal gets to his feet. Wood looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Rizal moves into range and clinches up with Wood.
Wood blocking some punches.
Wood displaying some good clinch control by pressing Rizal up against the cage.
Wood tries to land knees in the clinch but Rizal avoids the damage to the body.
Rizal looking to stall.
Wood wants to stall.
Wood fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rizal breaks from the clinch.

Rizal has closed the distance and engaged Wood in a clinch.
Rizal is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wood gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Rizal tries to stall but Wood uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Wood lands a shot to the body.
Wood landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Rizal is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Wood is looking to take this one to the mat.
Rizal has had enough of the clinch but Wood keeps him there for the moment.

Rizal successfully pulls guard.
Wood controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wood stopping the sweep attempt from Rizal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Rizal dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Alexander Rizal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rizal has closed the distance and engaged Wood in a clinch.
Rizal doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Wood gets underhooks to prevent Rizal's takedown attempt.
Rizal taking a breather.
Wood on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rizal is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wood to keep the fight standing.

Wood jumps into guard, dragging Rizal to the mat.
Rizal is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Wood is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Rizal is posturing up here but Wood has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Rizal tries to roll out but it's too tight and Rizal has to tap! Slick submission there by Wood!
